A Note from the Webmaster
Hello! It’s a pleasure to welcome you to the long overdue Masquerade Website Launch.
For those of you that don’t know me, I am Seb, Dr M’s son. I have managed this website launch from the initial stage of proposing the concept to Dad over a year ago, up to this stage you see now. The project has been long in the works: for a while, just an idea. A few months back we had a fantastic logo designed, followed up by great artwork from Baker2d and the web design from Kyee. A few months of dormancy went by (whilst I did my exams!) and then the real action started a week ago, when I started implementing and coding everything. I wasn’t able to do everything on my own, so I would like to thank Gareth before we go on… This last week, we have both had many late nights and I thank him for doing so alongside me.
The main concept I envisaged for this website’s relaunch was a more clean, up-to-date approach to presenting the various content regarding DR M’s online identity. I had to persuade DR M to tame his ideas of things flying across the screen and popping up for something more clean and usable – I think he gets where I’m coming from now though! I still think this site captures the quirkiness he’s after, right? To bring Masquerade up-to-date we needed a real ‘live’ feel – where data is grabbed in, aggregated and fundamentally centralises DR M’s online identity to one place. It was also important that this was able to happen as seamlessly and effortlessly as possible. I have tried to automate as much as I can and make things easy to update.
So anyway – here it is. Let me know what you think. It’s by no means perfect or complete. I’m sure this will look pretty dodgy in some web browsers – please let me know if that is the case.
Unfortunately, due to the deadline I set myself to get everything done, I was not able to complete absolutely everything for today’s launch. But fear not, we will be rolling the rest of the features out shortly!
Hope you like the site.
